Barbecuing is fun, especially when the end result is delicious. Sadly, most of us have experienced a charred, overcooked piece of meat that's been left on a high heat for too long! Hukka's Soapstone Barbecue Grill Stone helps to make everyone a better cook. The stone distributes heat evenly, which helps to keep food nice and moist. No more charred steaks! (though it can also be used for vegetables, fish and other foods)
Designed to be used on a gas or electric grill, the stone should never be used on open fire, charcoal fire or the side burner of a gas grill.
Before using it for the first time wash the Grill Stone thoroughly and let it dry for at least 24 hours. Place it empty on a grill with half power for 30 minutes and then let it cool down completely. After that the stone is ready for normal use.
Place the stone on the barbecue grill so that the heat from burners hit it evenly. Heat the grill with 50% power for 10-15 minutes. Spread a little butter/olive oil mixture on the stone and then place the food you wish to cook on top and cook as normal. Once you've finished the stone will help to keep food warm for a long time.
After use the stone can be cleaned with a barbecue cleaning brush and it's ready for the next use. If it's very dirty it can be washed with water, though remember to let it dry for at least 24 hours before using again. From time to time you should rub the surface of the stone with a thin layer of high quality cooking oil to prolong it's lifetime.
The Hukka Grill Stone is made of pure, natural Finnish soapstone. It should be handled with care, avoid dropping or bumping it against hard surfaces. It scratches easily as it is made of soft stone, though scratches or hairline fractures do not prevent the stone from being used in the normal way.
The Grill Stone should be stored in the house between uses and not out with the barbecue.
